INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Central Indiana will enjoy above-normal temperatures, calm winds and mostly sunny skies through early next week before a wetter pattern emerges near Halloween.
Expect another beautiful fall day across central Indiana. Mostly sunny skies and light winds will allow temperatures to climb into the low 70s this afternoon—slightly above normal for late October. Morning temperatures started in the mid-40s in many areas.

Clear skies and calm winds will allow temperatures to drop into the mid-40s overnight. Patchy fog may develop in low-lying areas after midnight, especially in rural locations and near bodies of water. Visibility could be reduced in some spots through early Saturday morning.
The pleasant pattern continues through the weekend with mostly sunny skies both Saturday and Sunday. High temperatures will climb into the low to mid-70s each afternoon—well above the normal high of 60 degrees for this time of year. Morning lows will remain in the mid-40s to near 50 degrees.
Patchy fog will again be possible late at night and early Sunday morning in low-lying areas. The fog should lift by mid-morning each day.

The unseasonably warm weather continues into early next week. Highs on Monday could approach 75 degrees—about 15 degrees above normal. Light south winds will help pump in the mild air.
By mid-week, clouds will begin to increase as moisture moves in from the southwest. Temperatures will remain mild with highs in the upper 60s to low 70s through Thursday. The chance for rain remains low through Thursday.

A pattern change appears likely as we head toward Halloween weekend. A cooler air mass will begin sliding into the region from the north, bringing an increased chance for rain. Confidence remains low on specific timing and rainfall amounts this far out, but it’s something to watch if you have outdoor plans for the holiday weekend.
